Sometimes They Get it Wrong
Mom and I decided to indulge a little today…we are both making excellent progress toward our goals, so we opted to have some delicious Mediterranean food from a place in San Antonio that we like very much. We carefully made our choices (sharing an entree, for example), and sent our order off so we could go pick it up.
Mom actually went to pick it up…when she got home, we tore into the packaging in anticipation of our meal.
It wasn’t our order. It was not our chicken and shrimp with tzaziki and sweet rose tea. There was RICE in this order (we aren’t eating rice just yet). There was no tea. There was no tzaziki…
It could have been a disaster, but instead we decided to try the meal we were given (we weren’t going to go back to the restaurant some miles distant). It was pretty tasty and not something we would have ordered on our own…roasted Roma tomato, grilled mushrooms, olives and peppers, a tangy dressing for the salad…so, we got to try something new, we laughed ruefully about needing to check the order before we leave the restaurant next time, and enjoyed ourselves. The naan was the star of the show…first proper carbs I’ve had in a month…
I think the moral of this story (if it needs one) is that it doesn’t have to be a federal case if something isn’t exactly what you planned for it to be. Sometimes you can just relax and unwrap the new experience. I want to do more of this…I feel like today we let the molehill be a molehill, and why not?
