Slow Cooker Pork
1 pork tenderloin (about two pounds)
1 can of Dr. Pepper
1 tsp honey
1 TBL balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Put all ingredients in a crockpot, cover and cook on HIGH for six hours or LOW for eight hours. When the meat is done cooking, taste and add more salt and pepper, if desired.
DR. PEPPER BBQ SAUCE
4 TBL unsalted butter (or margarine)
1 large yellow onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic
1 cup ketchup
12 ounce can of Dr. Pepper
1/2 c cider vinegar (white vinegar will do)
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 tsps chili powder
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
In heavy saucepan, melt the butter and saute the onion and garlic until translucent, about 10 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients and simmer for about 15 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings. Continue to simmer for 25 minutes, or until sauce begins to thicken.
