Still Waiting
Yesterday’s post didn’t publish like I thought it did…ah, well…perhaps more poignant an idea…”man plans, god laughs”…it kind of resonates with the waiting game we are in right now. I am mildly impressed by the stamina of the talking heads…they’ve been at it for hours, approaching days…they repeat with the same inflection and emphasis every ten minutes…thank goodness for the hourly weather report from my local station…otherwise I would get sucked into the vortex. Don’t be overly shocked, but I have turned off my TV…my classes have begun, and I don’t need the distraction.
I am old enough to remember the way news used to be reported…you know…at a specific time (unless tragedy struck)…no real spin…just the facts, ma’am. I am too young to have really benefited from the straightforward presentation of events…the ones where you got to make your own mind up about how you felt about them instead of getting something dipped in politics. I do like watching film from the archives. Can you be nostalgic for a time in which you did not live?
I am.
