I don’t remember an election that was this contentious. As a student of history I am aware of such…but I didn’t live through them. The people have come out in record numbers to cast a vote and be heard. I think that is remarkably cool. What I am having trouble envisioning is what will happen tomorrow. What blessings and what mischief will be wrought by both delighted and disappointed voters? Candidates?

We need to come together. Maybe bake some cookies together and talk about the things we have in common instead of the things that are different. More than the election, I am impatient for the ability to safely meet with people again. This pandemic keeps us from being able to comfort and care for each other in traditional ways. I am trying to be creative and come up with non-traditional ways, but sometimes that is exhausting. That doesn’t mean I am going to stop trying…I just may need a nap first.
